GENERAL ASSEMBLY MEETING

All PCM members are invited to the General assembly meeting, which will take place on Saturday, November 17th, at 5:30 pm in the Trinity Hall at St. Ann Catholic Church located at 6529 Stage Rd. in Bartlett.
All are asked to get acquainted with the attached documentation prior to the meeting and to contact Board members or Fr. Kazimierz with any relevant questions.  

POLAND”S INDEPENDENCE DAY

To commemorate Poland’s Independence Day we invite you to participate in the holy mass planned for Saturday, November 10th at 6 p.m. at the St. John’s Catholic Church, located at 2742 Lamar Ave. After the mass, which will be celebrated by Fr. Kazimierz , we will meet for coffee and cakes and listen to the presentation about this special holiday. We invite you all to came and celebrate with us.

 ANDRZEJKI PARTY

“Andrzejki” Fall Dance party, will be held on Saturday, November 24th, at the Country Hills Club, Twin Rivers Drive, Cordova.  The party will begin at 7 pm and end at midnight.  Tickets are $15 per person for the PCM members and $20 per person for non-members.   Since this is a “potluck” event, please bring a dish to share. Anna  Wozniak is coordinating the menu. See you there!

POLISH WIGILIA DINNER

Our Polish “Wigilia” dinner will be held on Saturday, December 8th ,  at 5 pm at the Family Life Center located at St. Ann’s Catholic Church located at 6529 Stage Road in Bartlett, TN 38134.  This year there is a free admission for the PCM members.  Please make the reservations by calling the treasurer and declaring your participation by December 1st. All non-members are asked to send checks to the treasurer for the admission price prior to December 1st as well.  This will allow us to prepare accordingly, to plan for the children’s presents and prepare holiday dishes based on the number of reservations.

Admission prices are as follow:

   PCM members:

  • Adults – Free admission

  • Children below 18–Free admission

   Non-members:

  • Adults - $15 per person;

  • Children 6-18- $ 5 per child

  • Children under 6–Free admission

Traditionally, following the dinner, we will sing Christmas carols and children will have a visit from Santa Claus.  Children of the PCM members up to 12 years of age will receive a gift. If you wish, please include additional $15 per child on your check for a gift if you are not a PCM member.

Volunteers are needed to help on Friday, December 7th at 6 p.m..  We need your help with cooking and room decorations. There is help needed during supper with the set-up and serving and with after dinner cleanup.  Please contact Anna Wozniak if you can help with preparations.

 Parents of children who do not attend Polish Language School and would like to participate in the children’s talent show for the Wigilia music program are asked to contact Jacek Dutkiewicz.

CHRISTMAS SEASON SCHEDULE

Confession
Father Kazimierz Abrahamczyk and father Christopher Rusin will hear confessions in Polish on following days: Wednesday, December 12th and Thursday , December 13th from 8:30 pm at the Church of Our Lady of Perpetual help located at 8151 Poplar Ave. in Germantown.
Would also like to remind you that there is an opportunity for confessions before any of our monthly Polish masses.

Christmas Eve Mass
The “Midnight Mass” (Pasterka) will be held on Monday, December 24th at 9 pm in the main sanctuary of the Church of Our Lady of Perpetual help located at 8151 Poplar Ave. in Germantown.  We invite you all to attend this very special holiday mass.

Christmas Mass
Will be celebrated on Tuesday, December 25th at noon, in the main sanctuary of the Church of Our Lady of Perpetual Help, located at 8151 Poplar Ave., Germantown. 

Pastoral Visits
If you would like to invite Father Kazimierz to your home for a pastoral visit, please contact him directly. Fr. Kazimierz will be available for pastoral visits following the Christmas holidays until the beginning of the Lent season.

Opłatki” Wafers
As in the prior years, you can purchase  “opłatki” wafers from Zofia Schmidt for $2 per 3-piece package.

THE NEW YEAR’S EVE PARTY

All interested in organization , coordination or helping with this year’s New Years Eve party are asked to contact the Board members by November 30th.  The reservations have been made for the Country Hills Club, Twin Rivers Drive, Cordova. The sound equipment will be available, but there is a need for a disk jockey to take charge of the evenings music. The party will take place only if there are enough people interested in coordinating all aspects of the evening.    

CONDOLENCES

We ask Mr. Marek Gilewski and his family to accept our deepest condolences for the loss of his Mother. May she rest in peace.

SPORTS CORNER

If you are interested in improving your stamina and have fun at the same time, then join our volleyball team. We meet every Wednesday, at 7 pm at the gym of the Blessed Sacrament Church, 2564 Hale Ave. Please contact Zbyszek Mustwillo with any questions.

MEMBERSHIP IN THE POLISH CATHOLIC MISSION

To become a member, one needs to pay membership dues.

 PCM Member rights:

  • Right to vote to elect PCM officers

  • Right to receive all information pertaining to the PCM activities (religious, organizational, financial, etc.)

  • Free PCM newsletter

  • Admission discount to PCM events

  • Free admission to the Wigilia dinner for children younger than 18 years old.

     PCM Newsletter

  • Our newsletter is mailed to all PCM members as well as members of the former Polish-American Society.

  • Non-members may continue receiving our newsletter for a $5/year contribution.  The above contribution should be mailed to the PCM Treasurer.
