Mass in Polish – June 19
Our June Mass in Polish will take place on Saturday,
June 19 at 7:00 pm, St. Ann’s church in Bartlett. It
will be celebrated in
the old church building, currently St. Joachim
chapel. Everyone is invited to participate!
Graduations, vacations.....
Congratulations to all students who successfully
completed the current academic year and/or
graduated! Special best wishes are addressed to
those who graduated from high school and are
starting college soon – good luck to you! We wish
you all wonderful, fun, safe and adventurous summer
holidays!
August 7 - 8 (Saturday, Sunday) – Pilgrimage
It is the second time already that members of our
community are invited to participate in a two-day
walking pilgrimage from
Chicago
to Meriville, Indiana.
If you would like to participate please contact Fr.
Kazimierz or Zofia Schmidt (372-5794). It would be
great if the Polish Catholic Mission of Memphis was
well represented at this event.
The pilgrimage is the act of faith of the Church
community. It is a journey taken upon for religious
reasons, the destination of which is a holy or
sacred place. The efforts made to complete the
journey can be a sign of remorse for our sins, or
the requests for help, health, good luck.
The pilgrimage’s schedule:
day 1, Saturday: St. Michael’s church, Chicago, IL –
the Polish monastery of Carmelites, Munster, IN
(stop for the night); day 2 – Sunday: Munster -
Merrillville IN, Our Lady of Czestochowa Sanctuary,
Fathers Salvatarians.
Total length: 32 miles (appx. 54 km). The pilgrimage
will happen regardless of weather conditions.
Republic of Poland Consul Michal Sikorski’s visit in
Memphis

related to the upcoming visit of Consul Michal
Sikorski in Memphis.
The Consular Division of the Embassy of the Republic
of Poland in Washington D.C. informs that it will
have its office opened in Memphis on Sunday,
September 19, 2010. Consul Michał Sikorski, of the
Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Washington D.C.
will be handling inquiries regarding all consular
matters. Mr. and Mrs. Ryszard Bute have graciously
offered her private offices at 1604 Kirby Parkway,
Memphis, TN 38120 to accommodate the Consul’s
office.
Requests for a meeting with the Consul can be made
via e-mail (washington.consular@msz.gov.plThis

) or by calling 202 234 38 00 (ext. 2201). Please
make sure you have all necessary documents in
original form and photocopies. Please read carefully
the content of the passport information page at

requirements for the photos) and clarify any
questions by phone or by emailing the Consular
Division of the Polish Embassy in Washington.
We
remind you that the passport application requires a
“PESEL” number. In the absence
thereof, please provide advance notification of that
fact when writing or calling to the Consulate.
During the visit, all consular issues can be
considered, not just those related to passport
matters.
Financials
Offering collected at the Easter mass was $906
(+$120for the seminarians). Another $706 was
collected during the Smolensk memorial mass and was
donated to the families of the victims.
Expenses: $590 for church expenses, Easter
decorations and Easter breakfast.
For your convenience we are providing collection
envelopes at the church entry. Envelopes are
addressed to the Polish Catholic Mission or the
Seminarians.
Help needed!
We encourage everyone to let us know if you can help
with any of the activities performed by the Polish
Catholic Mission. We need choir singers, collection
ushers, lectors, altar servers as well as volunteers
to help in the sachristy. Let’s remember that all
talent comes from God and he deserves our respect
and glory by our work, prayer and song. If you can
help, please contact Zofia Schmidt or Fathers
Kazimierz, Krzysztof or Jacek.
