Members of the Polish Catholic Mission of Memphis, along with Fr. Kazimierz Abrahamczyk, participated (August 8 &9) in the XXII Polish Marian Pilgrimage from Chicago to the Shrine of Our Lady of Czestochowa in Merrillville, Indiana. The motto of this year’s pilgrimage was “Mary the Star of Hope”.
That was a wonderful experience. After such a strenuous walk, we were very tired, but very light in our souls. We fellowshipped with others, sang religious songs, and constantly prayed for the sick and infirm. It was great to see such a large number of young people taking part in the event. There were between 5-6 thousand people who participated in the march including parents with strollers, and handicapped people. The logistics of the event was excellent, thanks be to God for all the people who made this event happen.
