Ed Rutkowski -
We have learned that Ed Rutkowski has passed away this morning (Dec 9, 2008). Ed was the life-long friend of Jan Karpinski who passed away last year. Ed and Jan survived the Nazi concentration camps together during WWII, and came to Memphis through the sponsorship of Sonny Foster of Germantown at the end of the war. It was here in Memphis, that Ed met and married his sweet wife Livija. Over the years, Ed and Livija were active in the Polish American Society and Polish Catholic Mission, and frequently attended the functions of these organizations.
Ed will be sorely missed by his devoted wife, children, granchildren and the many friends he made over the years.
"Rest in peace, Ed! You deserve it!"
Funeral arrangements are here.
